Program Duration
The curriculum at Nalanda College of Medicine is structured as a 5-year academic program and 1-year internship (5+1). It covers subjects as outlined in the NMC guidelines. The curriculum incorporates integrated teaching, clinical exposure, skill development, early introduction, and continuous assessment to ensure academic standards meeting with clinical objectives.

Program Phases
Phase 1 — Foundation
The curriculum at Nalanda College of Medicine is structured as a 5-year academic and 1-year internship (5+1). It covers subjects as outlined in the NMC guidelines. The structure of the program is described in more detail below.
Phase 2 — Pre-Clinical & Para-Clinical Integration
The curriculum integrates pre-clinical and para-clinical subjects which enables students to understand clinical and theoretical concepts simultaneously. This approach is structured — it is not accelerated.
Phase 3 — Clinical Foundation
Phase 3 is centred on clinical training-related subjects that form the basis for later clinical practice and real-world medical training.
Phase 4 — Clinical Rotations
Clinical rotations take place in government hospitals in partner institutions. The timelines are structured by the institution and are supervised throughout.
Phase 5 — Advanced Clinical & Specialties
Students complete clinical rotations across specialties, including Ophthalmology, ENT, Emergency, Community Medicine, etc. These rotations constitute a significant part of the clinical education.
Phase 6 — Campus Integration
Project work, research submissions, remaining pre-clinical topics, University Exams, Practical Exams, and final university assessment take place during this phase.

The program is aligned with NMC regulations for Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) 2021, ensuring graduates meet standards recognized for practice in India.
Built for Clinical Practice
Clinical exposure begins early and is integrated throughout the program, with structured rotations in government hospitals and partner institutions.
Academic Expectations
Students are expected to maintain attendance and academic performance standards throughout the program. Internal assessments, clinical postings, and examinations are mandatory components of progression.
