Nalanda College of Medicine operates as the foundational anchor of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine within the Instituto Superior de Tecnologia e Saúde (ISTS). Our institution is built upon a mandate of academic excellence, strict regulatory compliance, and international standards in medical education. Located strategically in the capital Municipality of Dili, Timor-Leste, the college provides a world-class environment designed to train the next generation of global medical professionals. Official Government Licensing & Gazette Publication We are proud to state that our institution is fully licensed and recognized by the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste through the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture (MESCC). This legal operational authorization was formally enacted under Ministerial Order No. 08/II/MESCC/2026 and stands as a matter of public record, published in the national gazette, Jornal da República (Series II, No. 9, page 234, dated Friday, February 27, 2026). This executive decree guarantees that our campus infrastructure, clinical training facilities, and academic framework have successfully met all stringent national standards required to operate a premier higher education institution. Authorized Medical Degrees & Curriculum Under the explicit provisions granted in items 3 and 4 (sub-clause a) of the ministerial decree, the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine (Nalanda College of Medicine) holds complete legal authorization to deliver the following program: Course of Medicine and Surgery, leading to the formal conferral of the academic degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
